Created at the request of Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said in the ’70s and ’80s, these rare watches will go under the hammer on May 13, 2023
Christie’s continues to ride on the demand for rare watches with a new auction featuring a covetable selection of wristwatches from Patek Philippe, F.P. Journe, Cartier and more, happening on May 13, 2023.

Each in near perfect condition, the watches feature either the Omani Khanjar emblem or the signature of the Sultan—touches that only add to their allure.

Made in the ’70s, Rolex Ref. 1665 Sea-Dweller bears the signature of His Majesty Qaboos bin Said in red. The signature is located above 6 o’clock, the very spot where the depth rating and the words ‘Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified’ typically appear.
The second lot is the Rolex Daytona Ref. 6263 that bears the signature of the Sultan of Oman in red on the dial (below the Rolex crown) and the signature of Asprey on the caseback.
