As Omega releases a Seamaster Diver 300M to celebrate the 50th anniversary of On Her Majesty's Secret Service, we look back at some of Bond's most iconic wristwatches

That’s right: It’s been 50 years since the release of On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. Feeling old, yet? To celebrate, Omega has unveiled a very special 42mm Seamaster Diver 300M in stainless steel, limited to 7,007 pieces.

The 50th Anniversary’s ceramic dial depicts the view-down-the-barrel which infamously opens the credit sequence of James Bond movies, and the number seven on the dating ring uses the same typeface as the iconic 007 logos.

In another nod to the secret agent, the limited edition's 12 o’clock marker is a stylised representation of Bond’s family’s coat of arms, which was first seen in the 1969 film. In every other way, the Seamaster stays true to the line’s DNA with a co-axial escapement, a helium escape valve and a Master Chronometer certification.

Keep reading to discover some of the most iconic watches that have been spotted on Bond's wrist over the years...

Just last year, the Rolex Submariner from A Licence to Kill was auctioned at an estimated value between HK$619,000 and HK$933,000.

The 1989 picture, which starred Timothy Dalton in his final appearance as Bond, was also the last film in the series in which the secret agent wore a Rolex.

Dalton's successor, Pierce Brosnan, favoured Omega and, instead, spearheaded a working relationship which Daniel Craig continues to this day.

Sean Connery wears two watches in Thunderball when playing James Bond. He uses his Rolex Submariner to tell the time, but switches to a Breitling Top Time after Q, played by Desmond Llewelyn gifts him the timepiece.

"Here we have a Geiger counter, useful and unobtrusive," Q tells Bond. "The sweep hand takes the radioactivity count. It’s waterproof, of course.”

The watch was lost until 2013 when an eagle-eyed shopper bought the authentic prop for a mere HK$240 at an English flea market. It was later auctioned for a five-figured sum.

3/4 Omega's Seamaster From 'The World Is Not Enough'

In The World Is Not Enough, Pierce Brosnan hunts down an ex-KGB agent-turned-terrorist who plans to detonate a nuclear device. Just a standard day in the office for Bond.

Q designs an Omega Seamaster Diver 300M specially for the occasion, equipped with a strong light and miniature grappling hook (of course) that is attached to a 50-foot microfilament strong enough to support 800 pounds. Handy.

A Seiko graced the wrist of Roger Moore in The Spy Who Loved Me, which memorably delivers an important message to Bond via ticker tape that reads: "007 TO REPORT TO HQ IMMEDIATE. M"

The film cemented Seiko's place in history, although promotional images of The Spy Who Loved Me do show Moore wearing a Rolex GMT-Master.
