With the Thailand Tatler Havana Night ball coming up, you’ll want some star-studded inspiration

If you’ve been on the internet at all, chances are you’ve come across the 70th Emmy Awards. As expected from the Emmys, the event had its fair share of highlights—cue Glenn Weiss proposing to his girlfriend mid-speech. Yet perhaps the key takeaway of this years’ event was a turn towards inclusivity in mass entertainment, as the 70th Emmys saw the highest number of non-white nominees ever. While eyebrows were raised at the disproportionately low number of people of colour among the nominees who actually received an award, the Emmys might not have achieved diversity overnight, but we celebrate the effort towards tackling a pressing issue that has previously been left dormant. And of course, we celebrate the fashionable statements made as well. Scroll through the carousel to see the best looks from this years’ event—with the upcoming Thailand Tatler Havana Ball, it’s about time you started prepping for your own red carpet poses.

Dakota Fanning

Dakota Fanning looked absolutely stunning at the Emmy Awards in her jade green gown from Dior. The starlet wore it belted at the waist to draw out her petite figure and complemented it with 175 carats of emeralds by Lorraine Schwartz. With her hair half pulled back, The Alienist Emmy nominee cut a goddess-like silhouette on the red carpet.

Yvonne Orji

Insecure actress Yvonne Orji graced the Emmys carpet in a black Georges Chakra Fall 2017 Couture dress. Perfectly fitted to her waist and fanning out into an elegant pool at her feet, the gown accentuated her gorgeous curve with elegance. For a bit of customisation, she opted to remove the overlay in the original dress, resulting in a sensual off-shoulder, perfectly complemented by Hearts On Fire Jewellery.

Keri Russell

Opting for bold, sexy couture, Keri Russell represented The Americans at the Emmys, appearing in a breathtaking peplum jacket from Zuhair Murad with a plunging v-neck and flowing feathers beneath a belted waist. The jacket was paired with a flowing pleated skirt with a deep cut for a playfully daring fashion statement. The entire look was completed with a finale of metallic heels, black clutch and dangling leaf-shaped earrings. So gorgeous.

Millie Bobby Brown

Of course, the Emmys wasn’t an adults only thing, and 14-year-old The Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown proved age had nothing to do with scoring a killer look on the Emmys red carpet and making it on Thailand Tatler's best dressed list. Dressed in pink, puffy, off-the-shoulder Calvin Klein, the best supporting actress nominee was an absolute modern-day princess on the red carpet.

Tatiana Maslany

When it comes to red carpet events, designer gowns are always a safe, fail-proof choice, but it isn't the only way to stun. Tatiana Maslany opted for a more edgy route, sporting a daring pant look of black and yellow. Definitely an eye-catcher on the carpet this year, her outfit featured a custom-made geometric jumpsuit by Christian Siriano. Asymmetric for a bold effect, it covered her right arm with dramatic flair whilst baring her left arm in a halter-top esque style. The top was tied into a knot at her left hip, with remaining fabric fanning out onto the floor in a soft, graceful trail.

Tracee Ellis Ross

At this years’ Emmy Awards, there were the dresses that were spectacular enough to shut down the entire carpet. Tracee Ellis Ross showed up in one of those. Known for her artful, borderline irreverent approach to fashion and social media, it was no surprise that she opted for something completely edgy and out of the box. Dressed in hot pink Valentino haute couture, her gown turned her entire bodice into a spectacular confection-esque ruffle. Voluminous and unabashedly outstanding, the gown billowed around her, enveloping her in full-body fuscia.

Queer Eye Crew

Then, of course, we have the crew that completely won our hearts. Each impeccably tailored, unique and  yet complementing to the overall group look—we cannot say enough about Antoni Porowski, Tan France, Karamo Brown, Bobby Berk and Jonathan Van Ness on Emmy Awards night.  Whether it’s Karamo’s regal equestrian look of knee high leather boots or how Jonathan continually breaks down barriers as to what men can wear to impress and express at events, Queer Eye simply cannot stop slaying everywhere we see them.
