From Zee Pruk Panich to Tony Leung and Carina Lau: Best-dressed Asian celebs at Venice Film Festival

It’s 2023 and Asian stars are having a moment at the prestigious event—on top of Tony Leung winning the Lifetime Achievement Award, the region’s celebrities are also lighting up the red carpet

As Hong Kong star Tony Leung added another feather to his cap by winning the Golden Lion Lifetime Achievement Award this weekend at the 2023 Venice International Film Festival, he and his wife, actress Carina Lau, both looked resplendent in each of their appearances at the festival. The pair evoked effortless elegance during their arrival by boat at the venue and later dazzled in black at the awards ceremony.

Hong Kong actress Carina Lau exuded chic glamour while stepping off a boat in this silky Giorgio Armani ensemble, which featured a 3D flower detail at the neckline.

4. Korlan Madi

Kazakh model Korlan Madi shimmered in a long-sleeved Georges Hobeika gown, complete with sparkling tassels and a train. She paired it with Gianvito Rossi shoes.

5. Zee Pruk Panich

Thai actor Pruk Panich, who goes by the nickname Zee, looked dapper in a grey Brunello Cucinelli suit.

6. Scha Al-Yahya

Malaysian model Scha Al-Yahya nailed it on the red carpet in an Alia Bastamam gown with multiple and contrasting textures that gave a timeless silhouette and monochromatic palette added interest. Al-Yahya paired the dress with sheer gloves and sculptural silver earrings.

7. Mia Maelzer

Stolen (2023) actress Mia Maelzer celebrated her Indian heritage in a sari and vintage-inspired blouse from Indian boutique Parama for her Venice Film Festival debut.

8. Yoyo Cao

Social media influencer Yoyo Cao looked elegant in a black and white number by Nicole + Felicia Couture, playing with hyper-feminine elements such as hair bows and a skirt that resembled a bouquet.

British Indian actress Neelam Gill looked stunning in a strapless Giorgio Armani dress from the brand’s autumn-winter 2023 collection, which she paired with a Garrard diamond necklace.

Filippina actress Rhian Ramos brought vintage Hollywood glamour to Venice by opting for a Mark Bumgarner champagne-coloured gown and Maison Lumiere drop earrings, but added a vampy touch with bold red lips by Estée Lauder.

11. Farhana Bodi

Dubai Bling (2022) star Farhana Bodi dazzled in a red-hot Nali Barzani number with black straps and an extra-large bow at the bottom of the skirt.

12. Yan Yan Chan

Hong Kong-born, Sydney-based fashion influencer Yan Yan Chan looked timeless in a black Giorgio Armani halter neck ensemble, which she wore to the the premiere of Ferrari (2023), and completed the look with red lips.
