Luxury fashion house Christian Dior presents its very first men’s jewellery collection designed by Yoon Ahn, under the artistic direction of Kim Jones. The 2019 Summer collection draws inspiration from the house’s heritage as well as Christian Dior’s own life.
The ‘CD Icon’ range, whose silver-tone initials revisit a historic signature from the house’s archives, includes a chunky chain necklace with a magnetic ‘CD’ as well as a fluffy dog and a crystal-covered bone keyring, in reference to Dior’s dog Bobby.
Yoon Ahn also embraces the work of graffiti artist KAWS and his signature use of the bee insect. The centrepiece of the line features an exclusive metal perfume bottle that imitates a KAWS statuette of Christian Dior holding Bobby. The artistic sculpture, named ‘BFF’, was showcased during Paris Men’s Fashion Week last September.
The collection also features the ‘Colourful Dior’ line, whose logo was inspired by the Dior family’s business ventures in the 20s. Pieces include a brooch in fluorite and rhinestones, as well as a keychain in resin, each decorated with luxe details.
The fashion house said in a statement: “The unique modular packaging in blue and gold contributes to the reflecting the energy and spirit brought by the artistic director to the new Dior man.”
