Queen Elizabeth has reportedly offered to host the young royal's wedding reception at the Buckingham Palace
With all the news surrounding Prince Andrew’s scandal as well as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s departure from their roles, Princess Beatrice’s wedding to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi has been taking the backseat amongst royal affairs, with the date yet to be announced.
The eldest daughter of Andrew has had to watch as her father was forced to withdraw from his public duties amidst backlash for his association with financier Jeffrey Epstein. The Duke also skipped Beatrice’s engagement party last year, to avoid drawing negative attention to the special event.
Perhaps to help boost Beatrice’s morale, Queen Elizabeth has allegedly extended a special gesture to her granddaughter, offering to host the couple’s wedding reception at the Buckingham Palace in London.
As a source tells the Daily Mail: “Bea was delighted and very grateful to accept… it will be the first wedding celebration at Buckingham Palace since William and Catherine’s in 2011.”
Other royal weddings in recent years—Harry and Meghan’s and Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s—had taken place at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, followed by a reception on the estate.
