Behind The Scenes With February 2021 Cover Star Thipvipa Kitakkaranon
For this month’s cover shoot we gather at the latest addition to the capital’s luxury riverside hotels, Capella Bangkok. Our 27-year-old cover star, Thipvipa Kitakkaranon, founder of fashion house L’Astelle, arrives early with her team of hair and make-up artists and is soon being prepped for the shoot.
Behind the lens is one of Thailand’s leading fashion photographers, Wasan Puengprasert, and his friendly demeanour relaxes the team and makes the day easy for everyone involved. Gliding through various shots, Thipvipa seems comfortable in the spotlight and the day is wrapped up in a timely manner. With the photography done, the lady of the moment enjoys a conversation with us giving more insight into her inspirations and goals in the fashion business.
The young designer speaks enthusiastically about her nascent haute couture brand, which specialises in meticulously hand-stitched bridal and evening gowns for international celebrities and European royalty alike—including Chinese heiress and L’Astelle fan Wendy Yu, who appears in some of the images. The brand made its debut in 2019 at a fashion show at InterContinental Le Grand in Paris, a city beloved by Thipvipa and a capital of couture she intends to see a lot more of in the coming years.
