WHY GO? Nestled in a small soi off Ruamrudee, this zen sushi bar is encased in a contemporary glass and wood structure. A small pool separates the bar from the glasshouse restaurant and before your meal, an interactive digital display of carp swimming around a lotus pond is shown on the countertop.
WHAT TO ORDER? A choice of three omakase menus of 12 to 14 courses ranging from 4,900 baht to 6,500 baht (for premium products) are offered. These are prepared in the Edo style, following the traditional way of marinating, searing and smoking fresh fish. Morsels are served over vinegared rice with great attention to detail in the delicate plating of the fancy ingredients. The premium product course comprises dishes such as madai truffle, tender chunky pieces of fish served with black truffle, fatty otoro or tuna belly with beautiful marbling, awabi kimo featuring abalone from Nagasaki topped with unctuous uni and served with a fragrant abalone liver sauce. The beef sandwich with a rich and soft smoked tenderloin will not disappoint either. Complete the culinary journey with aiberry ichigo, the strawberry of love from Chiba. Large, sweet and juicy they are a refreshing sweet finish.
Drinks A small range of fine sakes are available by both bottle and glass. Japanese beer and whisky plus a few wines, some by the glass, are also available.
