WHY GO? This uber-chic sushi bar is located in contemporary glass encased structures in a fashionable soi. Digital screens show images of swimming fish creating a tranquil ambience. Omakase is offered featuring top grade fish. Bookings are essential.
WHAT TO ORDER? No printed a la carte menus are in evidence here other than a choice of two omakase menus of 12 or 16 courses. Begin with a delicate monkfish liver from Hokkaido accompanied by a piquant combination of yuzu and ponzu. This is followed by an innovative duo of yellowtail, one cooked, one raw. The experience continues with superlative abalone from Nagasaki topped with the highest grade of unctuous uni and served with a fragrant abalone liver sauce. Hand-caught slightly sweet Hokkaido scallop comes next, carefully wrapped in nori seaweed. Beef does not disappoint either with incredibly tender slivers of Akita fillet served Kobe style. It is particularly good with a deliciously moreish chuno sauce. Also excellent is a texturally interesting soup containing soba noodles. Complete the culinary journey with refreshing seasonal Japanese fruit at its best.
Drinks A small range of fine sake is available by both bottle and glass. Some wines also by the glass and Japanese beer.
