WHY GO? Owner and celebrity chef Tammasak Chootong calls his cuisine contemporary Thai but his extensive and adventurous menu features exquisitely crafted dishes that add distinctive and personal touches to international classics.

WHAT TO ORDER? An ambitious menu combines Thai and Western dishes. Begin with a soup or Thai salad. The signature tuna carpaccio is surmounted by wasabi ice cream in an arresting combination of colours, textures and flavours. Another signature dish is foie gras wrapped in betel leaves with crisp cashew nut candy and a sweet-sour dip. It is a delectable marriage of Eastern and Western culinary influences. Also consider the recommended braised beef cheek with massaman curry, a rich and succulent dish served with coconut gnocchi, edamame bean salsa and cashew nuts. The meat dissolves on the fork. A dish of Australian rib-eye strips, wok-fried with mushrooms in a piquant basil sauce, is provocatively spicy and another blend of culinary cultures. Excitingly different seafood dishes include sea bass papillote with local vegetables, prawns with lemongrass, salmon steak with yellow curry and a Spanish-themed paella.

Drinks The wine list has around 20 reds and 12 whites at affordable prices. Some are available by the glass. There is also a seductive range of beers.
