WHY GO? A mother’s exclusive recipes bring lesserknown eastern Thai dishes from Trat province to your table. A comfortable setting with mood music allows quiet or boisterous diners to relax and enjoy.

WHAT TO ORDER? Grilled fresh eringi and shitake mushrooms accompanied by Trat’s famous spicy dipping sauce is a generous, earthy starter. Its coast produces an array of seafood, which features strongly here. Two can share a refreshing Thai herbal salad with vinegar-cooked barracuda served with the house special peanut brittle dressing. The chunks of fish are conveniently shredded amid mint leaves and cabbage. Or go for massaman curry with chicken thigh and unripened durian, without the strong aroma of the ripe fruit. One of the best choices is the signature deepfried boneless sillago fish with garlic and turmeric, which comes in bite-sized pieces to wrap in edible leaves together with peanuts, lemon and onion. The dish has a sweet-sour flavour not unlike ceviche. For dessert, end on a traditional note with sago and young coconut sweetened with brown sugar and coconut milk.

Drinks The bar pours fanciful cocktails plus spirits from wellaged casks. The selection of red and white wines is nicely priced, including some by the glass.
