WHY GO? With great views across the central business district skyline, gatherings at Scarlett come with a sophisticated backdrop. The ambience is laid-back and fun however. The al fresco terrace is a great spot for enjoying pre-dinner drinks.

WHAT TO ORDER? Open with the signature le crabe royal d’alaska, an impressive preparation of Alaskan king crab, mango and avocado packed into a flavourful salad cake. Each bite is an explosion of sweet and creamy. For mains, opt for la cote de boeuf, an Australian wagyu beef dry-aged for four to six weeks and served with potato wedges and three sauces: bearnaise, black pepper and blue cheese. The meat is soft and very unctuous while the potatoes are crisp and fluffy. An alternative is scallops d’hokkaido featuring pan-fried Hokkaido scallops served on mashed potato with bok choy and a generous drizzle of truffle sauce. The dessert selections are plentiful. For a tart kick try lemon tart served with fire-roasted meringue and a mouth-puckering scoop of sour lime ice cream. Chocolate profiteroles with vanilla ice cream sandwiched between puff pastry comes on a pool of warm chocolate sauce. A great end to a fine meal.

Drinks A notable drink list comprising wines, hard liquors and brandies available before, during or after dinner, as is a good selection of cocktails and mocktails.
