WHY GO? This timeless tribute to French cuisine has long been a part of Bangkok’s culinary scene. Philippe Peretti has presided over this cosy and charming restaurant for over 20 years now, where the classics are offered up exactly as intended.
WHAT TO ORDER? Start your evening with plump gillardeau no 3 oysters with lemon and sauce mignonette. Continue with a generous piece of pan-seared foie gras accompanied by tart roasted peach. Alternatively, try the velvety lobster bisque, which is sprinkled with morsels of slightly sweet lobster meat. Main courses include an exceptional range of imported seafoods and fish, of which Brittany sole prepared in the crispy meuniere style and dressed at the table with a creamy mushroom sauce is a highlight. Meat lovers won't be disappointed with an equally impressive international selection of beef cuts in various sizes. These are served with a choice of sauces including a powerful red wine jus and a piquant bearnaise sauce. The dessert menu is lengthy and includes signatures such as chocolate plate starring a decadent mousse, a smoothly textured ice cream and a hot sauce accentuated with kampot pepper. A perfect ending to a very good meal.
Drinks An extensive list of wines is offered, including a carefully chosen number from France. A small selection, which regularly changes, is available by the glass.
