An appetiser of watermelon with ground salmon is one of a number of dishes based on historical royal recipes, this one dating back to the early 19th century. The fruity sweetness of the watermelon is perfectly complemented by the rich taste of salmon with the shallots adding a crunchy bite. Paste serves some excellent and authentic Thai curries; the smoky yellow crab curry comes highly recommended. There is a delicate hint of spice and just the right chilli kick to the dish, which has a generous quantity of crab. For meat lovers, char-grilled organic pork loin is a must. Beautifully served, the eggplant and tomato relish makes a delicious addition to the juicy pork. The portion sizes make every dish here ideal for sharing and the knowledgeable waiting staff are keen to provide details about the dishes. Innovative desserts include the zesty lemongrass and white turmeric panna cotta with a scoop of som sa ice cream.
