WHY GO?  This historic, sympathetically restored heritage venue now houses a modern Thai seafood restaurant in exceptionally comfortable surroundings. The a la carte menu is extensive or one can choose a discovery or experience tasting menu showcasing the restaurant’s signatures.

WHAT TO ORDER? Begin with a delicious starter of razor clams theatrically flambéed at the table with local rum and dressed in a homemade spicy umami XO sauce. Alternatively, grilled crab cake, traditionally mixed with chicken, comes uniquely accompanied by a yellow curry sauce. Follow this with a perfectly balanced, somewhat generous bowl of tom yum soup containing jumbo Thai river prawns, which are both succulent and sweet. Continue with a recommended beef dish of grilled crying tiger steak thinly sliced and served with a pleasantly spicy nam jim jaew dipping sauce. Imaginative presentation of the traditional ensures that desserts are definitely worth enjoying, including an innovative interpretation of tub tim krob that mimicks a western sundae and a highly creative classic mango sticky rice done the Paii way. Both give a perfect finish.
