WHY GO? If you love Cantonese cuisine, immerse yourself in the multitude of pleasures found here. During cool weather, dine outdoors alongside the stunning Chao Phraya River. The menu is very elaborate, so plan on returning for more.
WHAT TO ORDER? Wok-fried lotus root is bolstered with black mushrooms, gingko, lily bulb and baby corn creating a healthy bowl favoured by vegetarians. Black mushrooms with mature chinese vinegar is sprinkled with white sesame seeds and theatrically exudes a swirling mist from its base of dry ice. Roasted goose’s crispy skin wraps an abundance of tender sliced meat. The signature tea-smoked chicken with crispy rice arrives with drama when its glass bell-jar cover is lifted and smoke billows out having infusing the chicken with its rustic flavour. Among an extensive list of teas try shou pu’er from China’s southern Yunnan province. A must-try dessert is the magnificent sesame dumplings with gingko nuts in ginger tea, which is not overly sweet. Chilled sago and pomelo in mango cream is also a delight, with its bracingly cold mango soup dominating the sago and pomelo.
Drinks A good list of very creative cocktails. There is also a strong wine list with global varietals, plus spirits, Thai and foreign beers and of course plenty of tea.
