WHY GO? For classic steak frites with a Parisian sauce. A favourite amongst a loyal clientelle, Le Boeuf claims to follow the original recipe of the Cafe de Paris sauce introduced 75 years ago.

WHAT TO ORDER? Aside from its renowned steak frites, Le Boeuf offers a variety of starters including foie gras terrine and traditional French mussels with shallots, butter and white wine. For something light, a choice of mushroom cream soup or prawn and tomato soup is also available. The star of the show, however, is the traditional entrecote, or the different cuts of meat, with the classic Parisian sauce and unlimited fries. Rich and creamy, the sauce is kept warm on an iron plate and beautifully complements the different choices of meat, including the signature Australian angus beef tenderloin, succulent lamb chops or, for a larger party, black angus tomahawk. Other options include marbled wagyu, the tenderness of which pleases the palate when eaten with the buttery sauce and pomme frites. Those who prefer something less hearty may opt for the salmon steak, also served with the restaurant’s famous sauce. End with a French dessert such as Mont Blanc or creme brulee.

Drinks In addition to the bar serving cocktails and beers, the wine list provides a concise selection with an emphasis on artisanal reds.
