WHY GO? If you are in the neighborhood, this cosy, upstairs restaurant offers indoor and outdoor dining in a pleasant, unpretentious setting. Some of the interesting preparations include gourmet mustards and other special condiments concocted by chef-owner Luca Appino.
WHAT TO ORDER? The healthy salad is much more than its plain name suggests and bursts with sunflower sprouts, rocket, goji berries, chia seeds and a tangy spirulina vinaigrette. You can feel it doing good as you eat it. Green bean roasted octopus is equally fanciful with its chilled green pea sauce, blobs of straccitella cheese and cherry tomato confit. The signature moro oceanico is a big, boneless Chilean sea bass served with stalks of asparagus and smothered in a clam and chive sauce. Another signature dish, rib-eye wagyu, is cooked to tender perfection and arrives already neatly sliced. Balance it with more of the healthy salad. Pastas and an array of other fish and meatbased meals should be explored because the variety is impressive. White tiramisu is adequate and ice cream and other sweet desserts tempt, but perhaps go sugarless and try something from the interesting cheese list.
Drinks Plenty of red and white wines with a strong and elaborate emphasis on Italian labels, including some rare and vintage bottles. By the glass options are also available.
