WHY GO? Located in a somewhat concealed section of The Westin Grande Sukhumvit, this comfortable restaurant has a hushed atmosphere. Popular with a Japanese clientele, private rooms and intimate booths surround an open sushi bar and kitchen where chefs prepare the finest imported produce.
WHAT TO ORDER? Start with sashimi or sushi including premium chu toro or subtly sweet and buttery yellowtail. Follow this with expertly assembled handrolls: a classic california roll or the house favourite of crunchy soft shell crab wrapped in a creamy avocado mayonnaise, the perfect partner to the delicate crab meat. Continue with a fragrant dobin mushi clear broth of chicken and seafood drizzled with lime. Tempura offerings can be seafood or vegetable themed, the batter slightly flaky and pillow light. Main courses do not disappoint, including miso rubbed snow fish and wagyu beef. The latter has a melt-in-themouth texture and the unique, slightly fatty aftertaste meat lovers crave. Desserts include an intriguing Japanese-style parfait comprised of layers of green tea and vanilla ice cream and red bean paste with rice cake. It is well worth trying.
Drinks Creative cocktails and mocktails are offered alongside sakes, some sparkling. Additionally, an interesting international wine list is available with several by the glass.
