WHY GO? This charming eatery is located in a quiet lane to the rear of Emporium shopping mall. The industrial interior is quaintly rustic yet has a light and warm ambience, particularly when seated in the adjoining conservatory.

WHAT TO ORDER? Because the restaurant opens at 10am there is an extensive range of breakfast-like dishes on offer including the classic eggs benedict and eggs florentine or its signature cauliflower egg white omelette. Continuing with this theme, choose a pancake dish with seared foie gras or a fruity alternative of french toast. At both lunch and dinner there are other options including a selection of fish, meat and pasta dishes. Try the tasty carbonara with unusual hand-rolled pici noodles, or one of the equally enjoyable burgers with hand-cut fries. The twist on a fish burger using black cod with tarragon mustard is a triumph. Chilean sea bass and crispy-skinned duck breast sit alongside innovative sandwiches on squid ink or cumin bread, stuffed with crab and avocado in the mformer to moist roast beef tenderloin in the latter. For dessert try the simple creme brulee creatively topped with confit tomato.

Drinks An innovative drink list includes signature virgin cocktails. A concise wine list with a handful of reds and white on offer, including by the glass.
