WHY GO? Situated near the Chao Praya River in the Talat Noi area, an emerging neighborhood filled with cool bars and hangout spots, Jua is a hidden gem that offers a cosy and intimate space to enjoy good Japanese-style kushiyaki and an assortment of other tapas-style dishes after work or before a fun night out.
WHAT TO ORDER? Start with the classic style kushiyaki items grilled over Japanese charcoal. Asparagus served with smoked bacon, and okra with sake soy and togarashi are packed with well-balanced flavours and crunchy texture. Next, try the melt-in-mouth angus beef skewers served with ponzu and daikon, along with Jua’s unique prawn with a choice of durian or garlic butter for that protein fix. Also try some dishes from the small plate menu such as tomato salad, a refreshing dish with grape tomatoes, shiso pesto, goat cheese, plum vinaigrette and a kick of wasabi. Corn butter bacon made with cured bacon, French butter and sea salt is a must try, along with uni pasta, a rich and creamy dish perfectly contrasted by the saltiness of the uni and salmon roe. For something a little heavier, try katsu rib chop served with tonkatsu sauce and pickled ginger, a classic Japanese dish.
Drinks A curated selection of fine sake, unique hand-crafted cocktails inspired by Japanese ingredients and a small batch of spirits and wines.
