WHY GO? Indus has been serving dishes with fresh local ingredients and quality spices from India for over15 years in a converted1960s house and garden with a laid-back ambience. The restaurant presents elegant dishes derived from the Moghul cuisine of northern India.

WHAT TO ORDER? Begin by sharing a traditional Indian snack of papdi chaat made of crispy dough wafers covered in tamarind sauce and sev, crunchy noodles made from chickpea flour paste. Also good is the popular kati roll, pancake-wrapped chicken with spices. An Indus signature is kebab-emalai, chicken marinated with cashew nut paste, cream, cheese, cardamom and mild spices and then grilled in the tandoor oven. Move on to another signature dish, butter chicken, which comes in a thick creamy sauce. Raan, or slow-cooked pulled leg of lamb, comes in several sizes and is best simply enjoyed with pieces of hot buttered naan bread. Wrap up a filling repast with gajar halwa, a sweet carrot and cardamom pudding made with caramelised milk. It is a sweet ending to a satisfying meal.

Drinks There are a number of mocktails, cocktails, beer and spirits available as well as a good selection of wines from Old and New Worlds, some of which are available by the glass.
