Firefly is part of The Pavilions Phuket. It offers classy yet informal outdoor dining around a large swimming pool. Australian executive chef Belinda Tuckwell has created a very exciting menu that will leave everyone happy.

The enticing menu with eclectic Mediterranean char-grill entrees also shows Middle Eastern influences. Awaken the taste buds with tapas sized appetisers such as roasted prawns with chilli, garlic and lemon or calamari on linguine with a piquant arrabbiata sauce. There are also quinoa and avocado salad, falafels and roasted chorizo. The main grill offers hereford T-bone grass fed steaks and a black angus rib-eye, both served with duck fat potatoes. From the wood-fired oven comes lamb shank tagine with dates and walnuts and a generous Maine lobster. Try as well roast chicken and pork belly on the rotisserie, a collection of gourmet pizzas and a smattering of favourite Thai dishes including chicken and grilled banana blossom salad not found anywhere else on Phuket. Leave room for a dessert because smoked chocolate terrine with strawberry and meringue is a great way to finish.

There is a good selection of wines but try an exotic cocktail such as Siamese dream made with tom yum infused Broken Shed vodka, mahiki coconut, mango, lime soda and smoked coconut ice.
