These contemporary artists from Asia’s Most Influential list are pushing the limits of expression with works that present universal humanity and examine societal issues, including colonialism in Asia. Ronald Ventura, visual artist (Philippines)
For Art Fair Philippines 2023, artist Ronald Ventura presented two new sculptures and an adorned Porsche 911 Cabriolet as part of Beast Watcher at the Ayala Museum. The large-scale works—a humanoid ape accompanied by a bull, a rhinoceros with human feet—exemplify Ventura’s style, fusing symbols of pop culture and Asian folklore to express the wildness of power and the thrill of control.
