Apinara Srikarnchana

Co-founder, Chief of Corporate Affairs, U Drink I Drive

Partygoer turned lifesaver Apinara Srikarnchana knew that she had ambitions beyond her family’s company, Asia Insurance PCL. While she chose to work at other ventures, including Shisheido, she knew was destined to have her own business that would help other people. A few months later, a new venture caught her eye: a personal chauffeur service to tackle the national problem of drink-driving accidents and fatalities in Bangkok. The holder of a Masters of Political Science from London School of Economics and fluent Japanese speaker played a crucial role in getting U Drink I Drive off the ground by joining as a co-founder in 2014. Today, it includes 24-hour service for out-of-town trips, hospital lifts, and school pick-ups, operating around 10,000 rides each month in Bangkok. Between managing the company and social engagements, she also assists her mother, Yuri Srikarnchana, with public relations for Nara Thai Cuisine’s 8 local and 8 international branches. This year, Save The Children formally recognized the 29-year-old for a project she’s been quietly involved in for the last five years, Road Safety for Kids. Working with helmet manufacturers, schools and law enforcement, Apinara is passionate about eradicating child fatalities caused by not wearing a helmet.
