Disturbing the status-quo

English singer songwriter Sarah Faith Griffiths, who performs under the moniker Griff, is coming to Hong Kong to perform at Live at the Big Top, a new music series at the AIA Carnival in Central Harbourfront on January 24. Ahead of her visit, the artist of Chinese and Jamaican heritage tells Tatler about her relationship with Taylor Swift, and why her industry needs more women and people of colour producing songs.

To celebrate the creativity that comes from shaking up the status-quo, we take a look at others who are causing ripples of change in their fields. For example, British singer FKA Twigs, who has been challenging the double standards imposed on women of colour in the public space; La(Horde), a French collective that boldly defies the current movements in dance by prioritising social values over aesthetics; and a group of fabulous influencers, including Bretman Rock, who are breaking gender stereotypes in the world of beauty.

Other newsletter highlights this week:

Dear Tatler reader, don’t be afraid to speak your truth—people around you might need it more than you think. Until next time, have a happy Friday and a great weekend ahead!
