The palace said in a statement: “Her Majesty is experiencing mild cold-like symptoms but expects to continue light duties at Windsor over the coming week.”
“She will continue to receive medical attention and will follow all appropriate guidelines.”
The Queen is fully vaccinated but her health has been of concern as of late after the world’s longest-reigning monarch spent a night in the hospital in October last year. It was not revealed why she was hospitalised.
Besides the Queen, other members of the Royal family have not been spared from the virus which has been ravaging the world for over two years now. Here are the other royal family members who contracted Covid-19 since its outbreak.
1. Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge
Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, tested positive for Covid-19 in April 2020, according to palace sources.
The Prince initially kept his diagnosis private to avoid alarming Britain. He was treated by palace doctors and isolated at his family home, Anmer Hall, in Norfolk.
Despite his diagnosis, Prince William continued to carry out 14 video and telephone engagements in the month of April, according to BBC.
