People are taking to the woods in France with a basket in hand, foraging for chestnuts, mushrooms and other edible forest produce. To welcome winter, L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon has designed a very reasonable three-course menu featuring a range of seasonal produce from the French countryside. Priced at 2,950++ baht per person with a glass of sparkling wine included, chef Olivier Limousin’s menu includes a starter choice of foie gras terrine under a sweet-spiced jelly and poached pear or Hokkaido scallop served with pumpkin soup and confit chestnuts. A choice of cod fillet or roasted duck breast is available for the second course. End with the restaurant’s signature patisseries and sweet treats from the dessert trolley.

Radisson Blu Appoints New Italian Chef


Radisson Blu Bangkok has appointed charismatic chef Danilo Aiassa as the new Italian chef at Attico restaurant. Formerly the chef de cuisine at Mandarin Oriental Bangkok’s Ciao Italian restaurant, chef Aiassa spent over seven years at leading establishments in Bangkok. Focusing on high quality imports and locally sourced ingredients, chef Aiassa’s dishes often reflect and follow the seasons in Italy. From homemade pasta, seafood and premium grade imported meats, popular favourites include gnocchi, premium antipasti and Attico’s signature home-baked breads. The well-stocked wine cellar also highlights an extensive selection of Italian vintages, including rare Tuscan wines, in addition to numerous Old and New World varieties. Located on the 28th floor of Radisson Blu Bangkok, Attico is the only rooftop Italian restaurant in the city.

Get Krungthai's Culinary Pocket Book


Krungthai has announced a KTC Cultural Dining Experience pocket book, which includes a selection of premium-level restaurants recognised by the TAT-sponsored Thai Michelin guide 2019 and gives exclusive privileges to KTC credit card holders. When making a payment via a KTC credit card at any of the restaurants, card holders are entitled to up to 20 per cent discount and other benefits, effective until March 31, 2019. The first 5,000 copies of the KTC Cultural Dining Experience pocket book have been issued to KTC Visa Infinite, KTC-KTB Precious Visa Infinite and KTCxVisa Signature credit card holders who have had the highest spending within the past year.

Banyan Tree Bangkok announces the grand re-opening of its much-acclaimed Thai eatery, Saffron, following an extensive renovation that has given the restaurant a brand-new aesthetic character. Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit appoints Sicilian-native Frederik Farina executive chef and director of food & beverage. Having worked in Southeast Asia for 16 years, the 47-year-old chef spent the last seven years in a similar role at the Hyatt Regency Danang in Vietnam. With its grand opening scheduled in the first quarter of 2019, Farina will oversee the culinary attractions at the hotel, particularly focusing his energy on the top three storeys that feature a sky-high, multi-purpose event venue with a tapas bar and a two-level rooftop bar. The new hotel, which comprises 273 rooms and three dining rooms, is located in the city centre and offers direct sky-bridge access to the Nana BTS skytrain.

Soneva has unveiled its new 10-seater Twin Otter seaplane in the Maldives. The DHC-6 Twin Otter, which normally seats 19, has been completely overhauled by the Ikhana Group in Canada and professionally painted with Soneva’s striking branding with a bespoke and luxurious Soneva chrome and purple soft leather interior. The new plane, which is due to be in operation by mid-December, will be transporting Soneva guests to and from Malé international airport to Soneva Fushi and Soneva Jani. The aircraft has been customised to meet Soneva’s highest standards with the interior panels designed to provide a smoother, cleaner look from the typical commuter interior. The seats have been reupholstered using Elmosoft leather in Soneva purple with a floor covering that mimics slate. The aircraft has 10 VIP seats (eight front facing and two rear facing), with two additional fold-down seats plus two pilot seats.
