Nespresso has launched the second year of its reviving origins initiative aimed at re-establishing lost coffees from regions like Zimbabwe, Colombia and Uganda, where conflict, economic hardship and environmental disasters have blunted growth. The programme aims to revive local coffee economies as well as to preserve the future of some of the world’s rarest beans. Three new tastes—Amaha Awe Uganda, Tamuka Mu Zimbabwe and Esperanza de Colombia—are available at Nespresso boutiques priced at 30 baht per capsule.

4/15 Mixed Feast: Athenee Hotel


The Athenee Hotel’s Rain Tree cafe has re-opened with a novel rolling buffet concept together with a chef-to-table cooking trolley service, live stations and a new luxury weekend brunch. With the buffet set up to new safety standards, hot and cold dishes and desserts will be served from trolleys and from a la minute service to tables. The restaurant opens Thursday to Sunday from noon-2:30pm for lunch and 6pm-10:30pm for dinner. Lunch buffets are Thursday and Friday at 1,300 baht and dinner buffets are Thursday to Sunday at 1,700 baht. Special seafood buffets are held on Friday and Saturday at 1,900 baht.

5/15 Green Beginnings: Banyan Tree

Banyan Tree Group will open Ori9in, its first gourmet organic farm in Chiang Mai in partnership with award-winning chef and sustainable farmer James Noble of the Boutique Farmers. Championing local procurement and sustainably sourced food, the farm leverages the post-COVID quest for better health. It also serves the white menu dining experience observing provenance and zero waste. Ori9in will officially open to the public in October.

Newly launched Flash Coffee presents a collaborative exploration of personalised latte art. With new branches coming to Sam Yan Mitr Town and Siam Center soon, it aims to win hearts by blending an award-winning menu curated by accomplished latte art champions Arnon Thitiprasert and Robby Firlian. Introducing its locally produced specialty coffees at prices as low as 40 baht a cup, flash coffee will also be offering the public personalised latte art appointments at select mall locations.

7/15 Nice Spice: Jhol Restaurant


Presenting a new standard in Indian fine dining under chef Hari Nayak, Jhol Restaurant Bangkok has reopened its doors with an updated menu. The restaurant is open for both lunch and dinner with restricted seating, adhering to the highest standards of health and hygiene. A brand-new delivery menu is also available consisting of Indian comfort foods, some with twists such as the Thai kaffir lime butter chicken. River City Bangkok has opened its CREATE Artist Studio, the newest addition to its contemporary art floor. Anantara has launched the Vietage, a 12-seat reservation-only carriage offering memorable rail journeys between Anantara Hoi An and Anantara Quy Nhon Villas in Vietnam.
