The most highly anticipated local art event

Every year, there is a magical time for art lovers in Bangkok when prominent galleries from around the world are stuffed into the rooms of one hotel. It is called the Hotel Art Fair, and it's back.

In just a blink of an eye, the Hotel Art Fair by Farmgroup returns once again, this year invading the rooms of the W Bangkok hotel. As usual, there is a special theme, and 2019's is "Breaking Boundaries". Supported by Singha Corporation, HAF 2019 is collaborating with more than 30 local and international galleries and independent artists to push the frontier of human emotions and point of views.

Two guest curators Nithi Sthapitanonda, founder of A49 architecture firm, and Pranitan Phornprapha, founder of Wonderfruit, are breathing new air into this popular local art fair their unique and fun signature styles. Nithi is known for his pen and ink drawings, while Pranitan's passion for art and music are being turned into installations reminiscent of his previous projects. Joining Nithi and Pranitan are a line up of prominent galleries from Singapore, Malaysia, Korea and Japan, such as Richard Koh Projects, Artemis Art, L+/Lucie Chang Fine Arts, The Drawing Room - Project, Korea Tomorrow, Clear Gallery Tokyo, Core Design Gallery and B-gallery, as well as strong local leaders like Number 1 Gallery, Joyman Gallery, Subhashok The Arts Centre, La Lanta Fine Art, Chin’s Gallery and many more.

On June 22 and 23, Bangkok's art scene will not only enjoy the spectacular oeuvres expected every year but also be able to enjoy mini-events that will force you to look at art with new perspective. The first of such attractions is “Spectrum”, a collaboration between the Autistic Thai Foundation and Na Kittikhun Foundation that will showcase the creativity of autistic children. Another session not to be missed is that with emerging San Francisco–based Thai artist, Purin Phanichphant. Through his interactive art, the relationship between the participants and the digital world is transcended.

Get your beliefs challenged at the sixth annual Hotel Art Fair at the W Bangkok on Saturday, June 22 and Sunday, June 23, from 11am-midnight.
