China's Largest Picasso Exhibition: 10 Paintings To See At "Picasso—Birth Of A Genius"
Pablo Picasso’s transformative works have voyaged from their home at the Musée national Picasso-Paris to the UCCA Center for Contemporary Art in Beijing for Picasso — Birth of a Genius, the largest exhibition of the renowned artist’s work ever hosted in China.
Paintings, sculptures and works on paper from the first three decades of Picasso's career are organised into six chapters: “The First Picasso,” “Picasso Blue and Rose,” “Picasso the Exorcist,” “Picasso the Cubist,” “Picasso the Chameleon” and finally Picasso’s uncategorised later works. As gallery-goers wander through the exhibition, they will witness Picasso’s ever-changing style as he moves from his early days of academic Realism through phases of Post-Impressionism, Classical Revivalism and Cubism.
In total, the works on show are valued at more than €800 million (US$900 million).
Picasso — Birth of a Genius is open until September 1 at UCCA Center for Contemporary Art, 4 Jiuxianqiao Rd, Chaoyang Qu, Beijing Shi, China, 100103
