Azimut Yachts' latest Verve 47 made its debut earlier this week at the Miami Yacht Show. The luxury dayboat was made with performance in mind.

Built by American sailing experts Mercury Racing, the Verve 47 boasts four 450-horsepower Mercury Racing engines and a top speed of 60 mph. The high performance engine is complemented by Italian design firm Francesco Struglia, which integrates European luxury, including open lounging and seating on both the top and lower deck, multi-level sleep cabins, a stocked kitchen, a fully-digital dashboard complete with a sound system, and hull design by luxury yacht designer, Michael Peters.

“I wanted us to introduce a new type of offshore dayboat, but not based on a fishing-boat design,” says Federico Ferrante, president of Azimut, in a statement. “Nobody builds a better fishing boat than the American builders. Italian yachts, on the other hand, satisfy the need for beauty, with sexy lines and elegance.”

In terms of electronics, the fully digital yacht boasts an integrated system across two consoles, joystick control steering and bow-thruster, as well as a Seakeeper 6 gyro for stability and SkyHook station-keeping so the yacht can be held in position via GPS rather than traditional manual anchoring.

“I knew we needed to help our Italian designers understand exactly what we wanted,” says Ferrante about the Verve series, “so we specified many features specifically for the American market that you wouldn’t see on an Italian yacht.”
