For The First Time Ever, You Can Visit All Seven Continents On One Cruise
Silversea’s Silver Whisper has set sail on the Legends of Cruising 2020 earlier this week, departing Fort Lauderdale for Amsterdam, where guests will arrive on May 25 after a luxurious 140-day trip around the globe.
Guests travelling on Silversea’s World Cruise 2020 will experience 62 destinations in 32 countries, including the Antarctic Peninsula, where the ship will spend a total of three days.
“In utmost luxury, guests will witness unforgettable spectacles, experience unexpected events, and can enjoy a tailor-made collection of overland programmes,” says Barbara Muckermann, chief marketing officer at Silversea in a press release. “Silversea invites the curious, the adventurous, and the pioneers of travel to experience the earth’s most authentic beauty, which remains out of reach for most.”
For the first time on a Silversea World Cruise, travellers will get to experience Zodiacs activities and more adventurous expeditions. Led by local, English-speaking tour guides, each planned excursion and onboard programming is curated to provide insight into the culture and natural landscape of each destination, enabling guests to travel deeper into ports and get a better understanding of each port city.
In the Antarctic Peninsula, Silversea’s Expedition Team members will lead Zodiac tours for guests to steal a glimpse of local fauna, including penguins, seals, seabirds, and whales, before heading to a designated landing spot for on-shore excursions. In San Juan, travellers will embark on a musical and culinary tour of the city, hosted by an acclaimed artist, or they can opt to enjoy a sophisticated four-course lunch, prepared by a celebrity chef in Singapore.
Cabins and staterooms for the all-suite cruise range from US$62,000 per person to US$250,000 for the ultra-luxurious Owner’s Suite. The high ticket price tag includes round-trip business air travel, US$4K onboard spending, unlimited Wi-Fi, laundry, and medical services, visa packages for guests of select nationalities, a butler, a 24-hour in-suite dining service, a bottle of champagne upon arrival, and many other alluring amenities.
