1. Belmond Cadogan
The upmarket London district of Chelsea is hardly short of luxury properties, so in order to stand out from the crowd, a hotel has to do something rather special. That was exactly the aim of the recent upgrade to the Belmond Cadogan, which took some four years and around HK$400 million. Situated on the corner of Sloane Street and Pont Street, the charming property was once a favourite hangout of the likes of Oscar Wilde and Lille Langtry.
Today, the Cadogan comprises 54 rooms and suites, with the most luxurious accommodation being Wilde’s favourite—room 118—which is now known as the hotel’s Royal Suite, complete with an immaculate living and dining space as well as personal butler service.
