Here are all the design details we love in Dior's Dioriviera pop-up at One&Only Desaru Coast, Johor in Malaysia

Since it launched in mid-June, social media has been abuzz about Dior's fabulous takeover of Ember Beach Club in One&Only Desaru Coast

The extraordinary summer pop-up saw part of the Kerry Hill-designed resort transformed into a dreamy setting, adorned with stunning temporary installations featuring Toile de Jouy Sauvage.

The venue comprises mainly a pop-up store and Dior Café dedicated to the Dioriviera summer capsule collection. Dreamed up by Maria Grazia Chiuri, the creative director of Dior, these feminine creations are dressed in the iconic toile de Jouy motif in shades of pink and grey, dear to founding couturier Christian Dior himself.

From his very first excursions to Provence, Christian Dior became fascinated with the region, its colours and its splendours.

This season, Chiuri perpetuates the spirit of the irresistible odyssey with pieces that play with Dior’s classics, such as the toile de Jouy reinvented in a palette of soft shades, from pink to grey, via cream and blue.

Named Toile de Jouy Sauvage, this variation is deployed on iconic bags, like the Lady D-Lite and the Dior Book Tote, on the lining of the new Lady Dior Wicker, as well as on scarves and on the Dior Silk Top, promising an audacious allure for the summer.

As an extension of this, Dior Maison creations are in turn, enhanced by the same sketches which illuminate deckchairs, a parasol, a surfboard, table tennis rackets and a set of boules.

In sunny Desaru, Ember Beach Club showcases the Toile de Jouy Sauvage throughout, from furniture upholstery to beach umbrellas. Walls and ceilings also sport the pattern, not to mention more “portable” objects like a vintage Volvo, beach buggies and even the ice cream cart.

Guests may feast at the Dior Cafe on a special menu curated by celebrity chef Raymond Tham of Beta KL. Details here make the dining experience more special range from the specially designed table tops to the familiar Dior star embossed on fresh coconuts.

While shopping the collection at the boutique, admire the whimsical decor, which depicts flora and fauna that appear to be entirely sculpted in the sand.

Another highlight is the Dioriviera ferry featuring a vessel wrapped in Toile de Jouy Sauvage. This special ferry takes guests between Tanah Merah ferry terminal, Singapore, to Desaru Coast ferry terminal, Johor.
