Jim Thompson Launches Ed Tuttle Furniture Collection
Jim Thompson recently collaborated with renowned Paris-based architect Ed Tuttle, to unveil the Jim Thompson-Ed Tuttle Furniture Collection. Boasting items from armchairs to abstract sofas and stone mosaic tables, pieces are inspired by Tuttle’s signature silhouettes—minimal yet stylishly unpredictable.
In order to properly express the collection, Tuttle specially curated four different vignettes at the Jim Thompson Home Furnishings Showroom in Bangkok, as a means of visualising the pieces in the collection. The room-sets display the entire array of furniture designed by Tuttle for Jim Thompson, juxtaposed by textile panels, fabrics and contemporary South East Asian art, including work such as Pinaree Sanpitak’s ‘Offering Vessel’ and Kamin Lertchaiprasert’s ‘Already There’. A new silk fabric, dubbed ‘Rice’, was also launched alongside the new furniture collection, coming in 22 different colours. Honourable guests and prominent names such as Liliane Aussakul, Nagara Sambandaraksa and Jareyadee and Jay Spencer gathered at the Jim Thompson Home Furnishings Showroom for the exclusive first preview of the furniture releases.
