Shangri-La Hotel Hosts Twin Mixologists Straight From Istanbul
Try a glass or two or more of this multi-award-winning twin mixologists' cocktails, and you'll want to follow them back to Istanbul. Starting this week, the Shangri-La Bangkok's Long Bar welcomes guest bartenders Yigitcan and Onurcan Gencer to entertain you through the night.
The handsome twin brothers have come with four exotic drinks straight from their notorious bar in Turkey, The Twins Cocktail Lab. Inspired by a mixture of Europe and Asia, the twins have curated delicious mixes like Make Me Crazy, a blend of El Jimador Blanco tequila, aperitif liqueur, triple sec, orange zest and salty crystal black olive on the rim.
For an ironic healthy kick, definitely try the Antioxidant. Mixing Eastern herbs like ginger, turmeric and thyme with refined Iron Balls gin, the cocktail is like a walk through an herb garden. Another you just have to try is the Cassandra—Yigitcan's personal favourite. Inspired by the mythological figure, the blend of Diplomatico Reserva, lychee liqueur, lime juice, smoked lavender and Angostura bitters is said to give you an insight into the future!
If you find the three cocktails above too light for your taste, take the Ego. Wild Turkey rye whiskey is mixed with Campari, Fernet Branca, orange zest and Galliano infused dried banana and is served on the rock.
The Gencer twins take over the Long Bar until October 29. For more information, contact the Shangri-la Bangkok.
