Swiss Fine Dining Phenomenon 'Igniv' Flies To Bangkok In 2020
Dear epicures, prepare for the arrival of a new European fine dining destination in Bangkok in April next year. Flying all the way from the Swiss Alps to its new nest at the St Regis Bangkok is multi-award-winning restaurant Igniv, the brain-child of chef Andreas Caminada, the founder of the famed Schloss Schauenstein restaurant hotel in Fürstenau, Switzerland.
After visiting the St Regis Bangkok back in 2018 for its pop-up tour, Igniv, which means “nest” in Romansh will be back to stay in 2020. Promising a great blend for Thai culture, the gourmet experience will offer its signature sharing plate style that is already so close to our hearts.
Igniv Bangkok will be a hub where fine ingredients sourced locally and internationally offer guests the best joie de vivre experience. Delivering that joy to Thai foodies will be chef David Hartwig. Having helmed chef Caminada’s three Michelin-starred Schloss Schauenstein, Hartwig is a longtime collaborator of chef Caminada. Expect the menu to be seasonal, whimsical, delicate and pristine, mixing traditional cooking techniques with modern tastes.
Chef Caminada believes that St Regis Bangkok and himself share the same value for quality and that the food by itself will not complete an experience, which is why he has commissioned the talents of acclaimed Spanish interior designer Patricia Urquiola for the interiors of the Bangkok restaurant. Her acute sense of space, luxurious fabrics and colourful furnishings are poised to capture the energetic vibe of the city Caminada was instantly struck by.
