Dishes like Boon Tong Kee Chicken Rice and Beach Road Prawn Noodles will soon be available on SIA’s flights
As more people start to get vaccinated and regulations begin to be eased, Singapore will hopefully soon be able to look forward to travel slowly resuming with more air travel bubbles and hopefully shorter stay-home notices (SHN). When that happens, Singapore Airlines (SIA) will have some new and familiar hawker favourites that they will be adding to their menus.

In collaboration with some famous Singapore hawker brands, SIA will be featuring favourites such as Boon Tong Kee’s Chicken Rice, Song Fa Bak Kut Teh or Kok Kee Wonton Noodle on rotation on some of its flights from September onwards.
Passengers flying First and Business class can also look forward to Bismillah Biryani Restaurant's chicken dum biryani, Qiu Lian’s ban mian and Beach Road’s prawn noodles.

According to SIA, there are plans to work with other famous local hawker brands in the coming months.
This initiative comes about in celebration of the fact that Singapore’s hawker culture was successfully inscribed into The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco) Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in December last year.

As travel gradually resumes, our customers from around the world can enjoy even more uniquely Singaporean experiences when they fly with Singapore Airlines,” said Mr Yeoh Phee Teik, SIA’s senior vice-president of customer experience.
