Is That You?

Say goodbye to the days of waiting to check in to a hotel. Alibaba Group and Marriott International have joined forces to create special facial recognition check-in technology that specifically caters to Chinese features. The traditional hotel check-in process takes at least three minutes and even more during peak times. The new check-in system will simply require Chinese guests to scan their IDs, take a photo and input contact details on a self-help machine. Just like that, the machine will dispense room key cards after all details have been confirmed. The programme is due to be rolled out across Marriott hotels in Asia and other regions in the near future.
