"And I will walk 194 kilometres..."

That's not how the famous Scottish song goes, but that's what a bunch of the biggest names in our entertaiment industry did earlier this month for goodwill. Called the Walk For Life charity initiative, Thai A-listers such as Sirinya Bishop, Natthawut Skidjai, Piyawadee Maleenont, Mario Maurer and  Janie Tienphosuwan joined the campaign's front-walkers Metinee Kingpayom and Piya Sawetpikul in a 194-kilometre walk from Hua Hin to Bangkok. Metinee's hugest supporters in life, her brother DJ Mark, husband Edward Sharples and son Skye, also participated in the event alongside the superstar supermodel. All participants were accomodated at the InterContinental Hua Hin Resort in preparation of the long walk.

Now as you know, Hua Hin to Bangkok or vice versa is  usually no more than a three-hour car ride. However, on foot, this trip takes exactly one week. Sporting the official Walk For Life tee and comfortable shoes and pants in unison, the stars as well as friends, family, local volunteers and organizers embarked from Prachuap Khiri Khan province on  Sunday, October 1 and finished the journey on Sunday, October 7 at Siriraj Hospital in Bangkok, which served the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej until his passing on October 13, 2016.

In remembrance and homage to the charitable monarch, the 8.1 million baht and counting raised from the walk will be used as a fund for medical supplies for patients of Siriraj Hospital's Navamindrabopitr 84th Anniversary Building.
