“All grown-ups were once children, but only few of them remember it.” - The Little Prince
Regardless of what kind of adults we’ve become, many of us remember reading the beautifully poetic tale of Le Petit Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry as children. Those who grew up loving the Little Prince and his profound love for his rose have a lot to be excited about, as maker of impeccable luxury writing instruments Montblanc recently launched its latest Little Prince-themed collection in Thailand. Called the ‘New Montblanc Meisterstück Le Petit Prince Special Edition’, the collection reflects Montblanc’s belief that writing is a gift through which positive messages are passed—similar to the way Le Petit Prince shared his dreams and thoughts with the world that surrounded him.
The Montblanc Meisterstück is the kind of timeless piece that gets passed down from generation to generation, along with the stories it has written. So it is only fitting that the brand would release a line based on the equally iconic tale of The Little Prince, a book that explores themes of imagination, open-mindedness, dreams and the importance of human relationships.
The Le Petit Prince Special Edition combines a deep blue hue with shiny platinum, featuring design elements based on the whimsical hand-drawn illustrations of Saint-Exupéry in the book. The writing instrument is available as a ballpoint pen or roller ball, but it’s the fountain pen option that holds a special place in our hearts with its 18k bi-colour nib embellished with a delicate outline of the Little Prince and the fox who taught him the importance of love between humankind. For that added extra touch, a line from the story has been laser engraved into the pen’s crown.
Montblanc has even released a special ink especially curated for the collection. The ink comes in a dark orange shade, reminiscent of the fox’s fur in the story. There’s also a notebook bound in fine Saffiano leather, with a fox print embedded onto its cover. The collection also extends into men’s accessories with stainless steel cufflinks designed with a fox face, a blue lacquer money clip and a sophisticated woven leather bracelet sporting a yellow star.
If that's not enough, stay tuned because Montblanc has plans to release future editions that will focus more on other characters from the story. For now, see the collection here.
