Thitid has been heralded as one of Thailand’s brightest culinary stars since the inception of his modern Thai restaurant, Le Du. Affirmation of this came in early 2017 when his fine dining establishment ranked joint seventh in Thailand Tatler’s Best Restaurants Top 10 and 37th in the annual Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list. “I’m most proud of making modern Thai cuisine recognised and accepted both on the local and international stages,” he says. To date, the CIA-trained talent has added family recipe-inspired Baan and Backyard outlets to his food empire. In terms of a legacy he says, “I would like to be remembered as a chef who made people care more about local and sustainable produce—also one that made eating Thai food cool.” While his interests also span golf and scuba diving, cooking is what makes him most happy.
